You know, I am getting tired of people from urban cities being cast as less American than people from frigging small towns. See also Christians, evangelical Christians, mind you. And educated people, WAY more American than less educated. Of course POC are unpatriotic until proven otherwise. Sick of it.

Yep! And as a New Yorker, their fixation on the tragedy of 9/11 seemed especially insincere and ridiculous to me - the types who promote this nationalistic bs didn't give a shit about nyc before, since cities are the sites of brown people/homos and others who are inadequately "all-American".

hell yes. I mean, when those poor and most times white people and their values are so extolled and politicians are happy to pander to their asses, and yet you see liberal essays pointing out that one cannot pay attention to the innercity because the Republicans will use code words to inflame their base and win the election, it pisses me the fuck off. I mean, what? What the hell is so special about poor white heterosexual evangelical Christian people as opposed to everyone else?
