Following Karnythia's, Delux_Vixen's and WayoftheId's examples, I wanted to do my part in combatting RaceFail 2.0. While reading the latest episode, I was reminded of the Day of Silence protest LJ members did when the basic accounts got canceled. I wanna do something similar, but instead of being silent (no I'm not giving the bigots what they want), I'm thinking we do the opposite.

We have legions of POC SFF writers and artists and just fans in general on LJ. On Monday May 18, we have POCs represent by posting their short stories, artwork, poetry with SFF themes or simply post on their speculative fiction as a day of protest, to show we are visible and we will not be silenced.

We can also create a banner to spread the word and for people to post. I'm thinking Fen Of Color_United: FOC_U.

All I need from you is to help me get the word out about this. I know you're pretty connected on the blogosphere so if you could spread the word on community forums and to others, that would help out a lot.

I am open to suggestions, I'm open to ideas. So if you have any, by all means share. I just want to do my part.

What do you all think? You will probably have to contact him directly with your ideas.
