Today on GRITtv, Laura talks to a panel of interested observers about the state of our health care system: a doctor, a patient and a nurse. (Don't miss this special appearance by Donna Smith - who was featured in Michael Moore's movie SICKO. ) In the UK this week, "General Practitioners" (otherwise known as doctors) are protesting Prime Minister Gordon Brown's plan to change Britain's National Healthcare System in a way that the doctors' say could deliver them into the hands of private companies. For the first time, stateside, 59 percent of US doctors think a public system would be preferable to what we've got. In Congress tonight, representatives of three supposedly-"red" states will take to the floor to speak in support of Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) single-payer plan (HR 676.) (Watch it on C-Span at 9 pm eastern in "special comments." Is the healthcare debate heating up? You bet.

Then, Chevron prosecutor, Dan Stormer, on the all too-cheaply priced killer -- gasoline. And a movie about homeless soccer-players. Kicking It, a documentary about the Homeless World Cup, opens in New York June 13th and around the country on the 27th. For more go to kickingitthemovie.com.
