History: In 2006, China introduced the Labor Contract Law, designed to improve working conditions and expand workers rights and protections.
Remember the food-poisoning scandals that rocked their image even more recently?
Now: China now wants to institute new food safety rules, prison time for people who produce substandard food.
Time for rejoicing, right? Those backward, wicked, cruel Chinese have FINALLY seen the light and started giving a damn about human rights!!!
Guess who fought before and are continuing to fight tooth and nail to make SURE that these policies don't go into effect?
