I'm getting the feeling that some people think that homosexuality is a relatively new phenomenom. I'm also getting the feeling that some people think that its a phenomenom that only applies to white people. I'm not surprised, based on the fact that for much of history it has been considered weird and wrong. A great deal of oppression and suppression was the result of that. I like this. My people have a third gender, known as muxe.

"muxe"? interesting. The only thing I've been able to find in terms of Native American gender studies talks about "berdaches".

Ah, yeah, I believe that is a term from French? Most Natives just say "two-spirit" but our specific gender is someone who is born a man but is third gendered, and may be with men or women (it's a bit hard to explain, but it's not equivalent to homosexual, just that it's another gender).
