My problem is that he just might win. There was a particular case in which a police-man shot a fleeing suspect in the butt. Suspect sued, and won.

I... would not be surprised if he wins, depressing as that is. Recently there was a fourteen-year-old boy beaten to death in boot camp; the guilty party got away with it because the jury, I think, was dumb and biased as anything.

They think the parents shouldn't have even let her go off to the night market at all. KL is known to be very unsafe, and nobody in their right mind lets an 8 year old go around shopping by herself at night. But even having said that, they should be concentrating their efforts on the killers, not ob pointing fingers. You could say 'if wouldn't have happened if they had done so and so' but it wouldn't make any difference because the girl is still dead.

That ranks right up there with one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

For punishment, Mr Jackass should be led to the town square each day at noon, only to have a random female volunteer from the crowd come forward and kick him in the balls. This should go on for an entire year.
