So much for running a clean campaign

John McCain claims that The Obama campaign threw away twelve thousand American flags, which were then "rescued" by an anonymous Invesco worker. Except that the flags were rather carefully folded for garbage, aren't they?

A spokesman for the Democratic National Convention says these flags were not intended to be thrown out.
Flags by militantslacker.

Naturally, the Republicans are lying

"All of the flags at Invesco were picked up and put in bags and into storage, along with the unused flags and campaign signs. The flags were going to be donated, and the signs were going to be sent out to be used elsewhere," the official said, speaking anonymously since he was not authorized to talk to the press.

Fox News' Carl Cameron and Bonney Kapp reported that they had "been told" that "a vendor at Invesco Field found the flags, which were going to be thrown out, and turned them over to the McCain campaign."

...

Emails to three McCain spokespersons inquiring where the flags were found and how the McCain campaign obtained them were not returned.

Carl Cameron? Hmm. Wasn't he the one that was caught fabricating quotes that he attributed to John Kerry?

I am SICK of John McCain questioning Obama's patriotism and pulling these fucked up juvenile stunts. Then again, what do we expect from the guy who hired the Rove-disciple who helped smear him and his Bangladeshi daughter in the 2000 election on George Bush's behalf No wonder he refused to define the word honor when he was interviewed by the Time magazine. He has none, in fact, he has no clue what it is.

If only the right had as much concern for humans as they do for bits of colored cloth....
