Not reading the article because not having much time, but

Can we stop using the term ally?

YES. PLEASE.

"Ally". If you aren't part of the oppressed group, I assume you have a privilege. You are really benefiting, want it or not (and oppressing in most cases).

"Ally" is someone who doesn't have anything to do with someone's else problem and just decides to help. Again, oppressed people are the focus, and privileged people are totally faceless. Like the use of passive: "women are raped", "people of color suffered discrimination", white people, men, privileged are always absent and dissolved from all responsibility.

Yeah, it just gives the sense that some people are no part of the oppression system, when... uhm.
