The abstinence only thing is fairly recent, and really got its big push with Bush and his evangelical minions.. We had very awkward sex ed in 7th and 8th grade, run by phys ed teachers who obviously had little idea what they were talking about and seriously wanted to be somewhere else. No bananas, and I don’t think they told us anything we didn’t already know..
